Unitarian Universalist Association
With its historical roots in the Jewish and Christian traditions, Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion -- that is, a religion that keeps an open mind to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places. It believes that personal experience, conscience and reason should be the final authorities in religion, and that in the end religious authority lies not in a book or person or institution, but in ourselves. It is a "non-creedal" religion: i.e., it does not ask anyone to subscribe to a creed. UU congregations are self-governing.

The New Seminary
Two-year training program prepares the student for active service as an ordained Interfaith Minister. Classes are held on a 10-month academic cycle, September through June. The September cycle meets one full Saturday (usually the first Saturday) each month in New York City, plus two Sundays in the first year training and two Sundays in the second year training, as well. Students who live outside the greater New York area may participate in the training program as corresponding students. Correspondence study is integrated with the regular training programs.

| The Tikkun Community Created by Rabbi Michael Lerner, the Tikkun Community is a community of people from many faiths and traditions, called together by TIKKUN magazine and its vision of healing and transforming our world. It includes in this call both the outer transformation needed to achieve social justice, ecological sanity, and world peace, and the inner healing needed to foster loving relationships, a generous attitude toward the world and toward others unimpeded by the distortions of our egos, a habit of generosity and trust, and the ability to respond to the grandeur of creation with awe, wonder and radical amazement. We are guided in our work by our belief in the principle of solidarity. Tikkun Community
